The City of Montreal has a rich history, told in among other ways through the buildings constructed to accompany this or that aspect of its story. The Craig Pumping Station is part of Montrealers’ history, built as it was to help them win the struggle against annual flooding. The building’s survival was uncertain until 2023, but developments planned for the Faubourgs area where it is located have confirmed that the station will in fact be preserved. ArtExpert led the reflective process dealing with the role and contribution of this heritage building in the borough by proposing a concept and a business model in tune with the deployment of a cultural offering that would enhance the historical, architectural and heritage assets borne by the site.
