The work carried out by ArtExpert’s team of experts for the Plateau-Mont-Royal Borough provides a comprehensive overview and assessment of the area’s cultural dynamics. The study is based on a mixed-methods approach combining a sociodemographic analysis, a comprehensive survey of the arts ecosystem, a population survey, individual interviews with organization leaders, and focus groups targeted by district. While revealing that Le Plateau remains the undisputed creative heart of Montreal and that culture is a major factor in the area’s appeal to its residents, the report highlights significant structural vulnerabilities.
